KIDS&CO represents a contemporary preschool concept, with its official name being Kreativni Dani (Creative days). The preschool is located in one of the green zones of Zagreb (Cvjetno naselje). Its curriculum is oriented towards the education about the environment and maintaining a sustainable development, which emphasizes on movement and sensory integration as the basis of a holistic development of a child as well as an active, harmonious lifestyle within nature.
In how a child moves represents their way of existing, experiencing and understanding oneself and the world around them. Integratively, it influences all areas and stages of development. When a child absorbs information from the environment, it reflects on how the brain will be formed. Therefore, it is very important what kind of environment we want to create for our children.
At KIDS&CO preschool, we pay special attention to obtaining a multisensory learning environment. It enables sensory learning and promotes sensory integration. Nature's elements (water, sand, earth, plants....) are important stimuli in our daily activities in which children can use, explore and learn everyday. We strive for children to be able to learn in an outdoor surrounding regardless of the weather conditions – rain, snow, wind, are incentives not distractions. We actively encourage the development of communication and creative spirits of our children.
In working with children of all ages, especially in the nursery group, facts have shown what a child does physically during the first few years of life plays a significant role in later development of their abilities and functions.
